The Canandaigua Chiefs Auction and Swap meet is held in the Canandaigua Middle School on Granger Street in March of every year. It has been called one of the Best Auctions and Swap Meets in the upstate area.
At 10 am we open the doors for the Swap Meet portion of the day. Guests are greeted at the door and pay a $4 admission, which also includes a free ticket for the Door Raffles. We remind everyone to label their items with their name and phone number, just in case something gets left behind. We have added a vendors area, and ask the vendors to please bring their own table. Many of the Chiefs members are available to help people bring in their items for the Swap Meet and the Auction. The Swap Meet continues until Noon.
At Noon it is time for the Auction. During the Auction our Guests bid on items for sale. The owner of the item has the right to say yes or no to the Auction price. The buyer pays the seller directly. The Chiefs do not charge the owner or buyer anything on Auction items. All RC Equipment is welcome at both the Auction and Swap Meet. The Auction continues until we have tried to auction off everything, usually 3 to 5 hours.
During the course of the day, we have our World Famous Snack Bar, which offers coffee, donuts, soda, water, and pizza at reasonable prizes. We also run two or three Raffles for plane kits, 50/50 and offer our Club T shirts and Hats for sale.
The Chiefs have been very lucky to receive a lot of support from our local Hobby Shops, grocery stores and etc. over the years. Without their support and the support of our returning guests, the Auction would not be as successful as it has been.
